Faculty Textbook Adoption Guide

Textbook adoptions are to be submitted each semester for each CRN. Even if you don't require any textbooks for your course please let us know so that we can mark your course as 'No Text Required'.

Adoptions are normally due based on the following timeline:

SUMMER FALL SPRING
March 15 April 15 October 15
Textbook buyback is an important service to students that occurs at the end of each semester. Not only does it give students the opportunity to sell back their textbooks for up to 50% cash back, it provides a lower cost 'USED' textbook option for future students. The timelines noted above play an important role in our ability to buy back textbooks from students. Textbooks that are re-adopted for the upcoming term will earn students more cash back during buyback (50% back). Textbooks that are not re-adopted are bought back at a national wholesale rate (0%-10%). Please help us keep textbook costs more affordable by submitting your adoptions on time. Submitting your adoption selections early also gives us & you time to re-act to titles that may be delayed due to edition change, out of print, custom publication or packaging by the publisher.

The Shocker Store utilizes an online textbook adoption system, Verba Collect, where faculty members or select department administrators receive a customized email with a link that logs them into a walk-through process without any need for username or password. This is a simplified experience including pre-populated course assignments, easy-to-adopt past adoptions, and smart book search. Once you click into Collect there are four short videos you can view to show you how to get started, add materials, and submit your book orders.

Textbook adoptions can also be submitted using a variety of other methods such as email, fax, the Textbook Adoption Worksheet pdf (link below), or even submitting your information in person at the store. The important goal is that we get your information so that we can provide accurate and timely information to our students.
