WHAT IS ACCESS NOW?
Access Now is a collaborative program between the Shocker Store, faculty, and publishers. Students enrolled in this program will have access to the required course materials on or before the first day of class.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY CLASS IS PART OF ACCESS NOW?
Your course will be identified on the Shocker Store website as an Access Now course. You will need to purchase the materials online by visiting shockerstore.com or visit the Shocker Store located in the Rhatigan Student Center.
HOW DO I ACCESS MY COURSE MATERIALS?
All Access Now materials are provided through Blackboard. If your instructor requires an access code or additional Interactive or Adaptive courseware (Connect, MindTap, Aplia, Mastering, MyLab) these will also be available through Blackboard, in addition to your digital e-book.
HOW MUCH DOES ACCESS NOW COST?
Prices for the course materials vary based upon what is chosen by your instructor. Most Access Now prices are lower than the cost to access the materials directly from the publisher, with the average cost being 60% less than the new print textbook.
HOW AM I BILLED/PAY FOR ACCESS NOW?
Access Now materials are available for purchase in-store at the Shocker Store located in the Rhatigan Student Center or online at shockerstore.com. Simply purchase your drastically reduced course materials prior to the 10th day of class and you are covered for the term or more depending upon your course. Then, simply show up to class – it’s that easy!
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO OPT-OUT?
If you do not want to receive your digital course materials through the Access Now model, you have until the end of the 10th calendar day after classes begin to opt-out and receive a refund for the materials. To do this, log into Blackboard, navigate to your class, click on your course materials, and click on the opt-out button. Don’t wait, for there is a deadline! Opt-outs are only accepted the first 10 days of class (1-5 days for pre-session/partial term courses). By opting out of Access Now, your access to digital course materials and additional courseware (if applicable) will be revoked, and you as the student will be responsible to find the required materials by other means.
WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND ABOUT OPT-OUT?
No big deal! If you are within the first 10 days of class, you are able to click the opt-in button and re-opt in to the program. If you need assistance, please visit or contact the Shocker Store at your campus.
WHAT IF I DROP THE COURSE?
If you drop your course prior to the 10th day of class (1-5 if pre-session/partial semester course), you will automatically receive a refund for the required course materials.

Courses dropped after the add/drop date are not eligible for a refund.

WHO SHOULD I CONTACT IF AM HAVING TROUBLE ACCESSING MY MATERIALS?
Please contact the Shocker Store and inform them you are enrolled in an Access Now course and describe your issue.
